I love listening to Regina spektor. The songs always start out with a good beat from a piano. I also think she has a good voice. Her lyrics are always pretty weird but are interesting.

Massive Attacks album was pretty good. I liked the style of music trip hop. I like listening to all the different beats that they have produced. I really liked their song teardrop. The girls voice is very interesting and I really like it. She is really good at moving her voice to different octaves really fast and still make it sound good.

I was listening to the radio the other day and the song Follow Your Arrow by Kacey Musgraves. I first heard this song and was really confused by the lyrics because they were so weird. But I listened to it again and again and I really like it now. She has a really good voice and I like the message in the song. 

I really liked listening to The Fugees. I thought they were a really good mix of people together. I really liked the mix between the hip hop, soul, and reggae sounding music. My favorite song of theirs that we listened to was Killing Me Softly I love the girls voice in this song. And their rhymes are also really good.

One person I really like is Ben Kweller my sisters and I would listen to a lot of songs when we were younger. He has a great songs and his voice is really good. He has interesting lyrics sometimes they don't really make sense but I like them. One of my favorite songs by him is thirteen. I really like his voice in this song. I also like the harmonica part in the song

When listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers album Blood Sugar Sex Magik it felt like the album went on and on. It is a really long album and I liked some of the songs but other then that I didn't really like the album. It sounds like a mix of hip hop and rock to me which is interesting. I also don't really like the singers voice in some of the songs. In some of them he sounds good but just in a couple of songs it sounds like he is just screaming.

One person I don't really prefer to listen to is Justin Timberlake. I don't really hate him I just don't like most of his songs. He is a good musician and singer but I just don't really like very many of his songs in his solo career. To me they kind of all sound the same just with different words. He does have a good song very once in a while that is pretty catchy but I think the beats in a lot of his songs sound the same.

I like Kurt Cobain because not only is he a really good musician but he has a good personality. Unlike most famous people he doesn't think that he is better then everybody else and he thinks of everyone before himself like when making MTV's unplugged. He picked the songs that he wanted to sing and picked the songs that weren't as famous. My favorite song that they sang during that performance was the song Come As You Are. His voice sounds really good in this song.

My friend showed me these to girls on Youtube named Lennon and Maisy and their voices are so good. They both have amazing voices they aren't that old but their voices sound like they have been singing for a while. The first song they do a cover over Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire. In the second video I didn't know the song before I saw it but I think they do a good cover it Call Your Girlfriend.

I really liked Nirvana I thought they sounded really good. I really liked the whole CD that we listened to on Tuesday except for the bonus track which I thought sounded really bad it was loud and sounded like they were banging on the instruments. But other then that the CD Nevermind was really good and I ended up knowing more songs on the album then I thought I would. My favorite song on the album was Lithium.

I found a CD of the Dixie Chicks and they are a really talented group. I really like their voices the are really good and they harmonize very well. I really like their songs I think they are fun to sing along too. I really like how they sing this song Traveling Soldier and I like the story behind the song too.

This week we listened to NWA which I really liked. I almost think that they are better then the rappers today. They were very creative with rhymes and it flows very well. I think I just like old rappers in general though I think they sounded better and they don't repeat as much unlike todays rappers it always sounds like they are saying the same thing over and over in all their songs. My favorite song by NWA is express yourself because it is a good mix of pop and hip hop. I really like their raps. Rap in general is just cool to me if you can make it sound good. I just think its awesome to be able to come up with that I think it would be hard. I would be terrible at making things rhyme and flow together so I think its awesome that people can do it.

When watching the U2 movie the one part that stood out to me was the part that U2 goes to the gospel church and sings I still haven't found what I'm looking for with the choir. I think the remix on the song sounds really good the main girl with the microphone has a fantastic voice. I also like the idea of mixing the choir with modern day songs I thought the whole thing sounded so good. They all sounded great and together and really knew how to harmonize well.

Over the weekend I went out to Snook, Texas to go to a music festival called Chilifest. It is a country festival put on by A&M to raise money for different organizations. They had ten different bands preform for two days. The big headliners were Josh Turner and Kevin Fowler. All the shows were great and they all sounded great and prepared for the performances. But what made me like Kevin Fowler most compared to the other performers was that after his show he was the only artist that stayed outside for at least two hours signing things till all his fans left none of the other artists did that. After that he stayed to the very end watching the other performers and talking to his fans. My favorite song that Kevin Fowler sang was That Girl. Another performance that I really enjoyed was Corey Smiths. I didn't really know Corey Smith before his performance. I reconized some of his songs but I didn't know that he had sang them. My favorite song that he performed was 21 he performed this song very well. It was a fun song because he got a lot of crowd participation. Another performance that stood out to me was Arrons Watson's Raise Your Bottle. He has a very good voice and I also didn't know about him before this performance. Overall the whole show was great I learned a lot of new bands to listen to. 

Even though I wasn't there all week and didn't listen to Paul Simons whole album I thought that his song Graceland was pretty good. It reminds me of a mix between country and rock. I like the upbeat tempo. I also like how Paul's and his back up singers voice harmonize very well. I also like the diversity in the instruments.

I don't really like the song This Girl is on Fire by Alicia Keys which is the first video of her singing. I don't like it because its the song is just kind of boring to me. But in the second video is a girl named Emily Louise who can sing so well. When i first heard the song and then the video I thought that the girl was lip syncing because it sounded so much like the original.

During Spring break my family and I drove to Destin Florida so there was a lot of music to listen to in those 12 hours. I was riding with my sister and she had spotify on her phone which is a great app to have on your phone for long car trips. We listened to a lot of of everything like 2000's pop, rap, country and about anything else you can think of. But when we went through different cities or states we would play the music that fit the place we were in. When we were in texas we played country and songs like Miles and Miles of Texas. When we went through Callin Baton Rouge Louisiana we played Baton Rouge. Then when we went through Alabama we played Sweet home alabama.

I really liked 80's hip hop day! I knew a couple songs that I didn't know was from the 80's. I also thought the music videos of all the videos were funny and some were just weird. One of my favorite videos was the Walk this Way Remix with Run DMC. I thought that this music video was really creative. I also like this song because it is a mix between rock and hip hop.

Elvis Costello's voice is so smooth I really like listening to him sing. I also really like his song Alison. I like it because of the lyrics they are so creative. Not only in this song but in all of his music. I also like this song because I like the instruments all together and especially the guitar.

I love listening to Its A Great Day To Be Alive because it always puts me in a good mood. It is kind of a older song it was written about 13 years ago but it is still really good. I really the strumming of the guitar and banjo in this song. And to top it off he has a good voice. I really like the lyrics "It's a great day to be alive I know the sun still shining when I close my eyes."

I'm going to see Josh Turner after spring break at the rodeo and I'm so excited. When i hear him sing I always picture him differently then he really is. Every time I hear his music I wonder how that voice comes from him because it it doesn't look
like it would match up to me. Because it is so deep I think of someone older then he. i cant believe that he is only 35. Before I had even known who he was i thought he was some older man. But I love his voice he has a great voice and his music is fun to listen to. I'm excited to see him live to see how he can sing in real life.

The police I thought was really good. Their instruments were really in sync and sounded great together. When hearing them I wouldn't have thought of them as punk I would have just though it was a rock band. But there are some influences from punk but not enough for me to classify it as punk. Now that I have listened to them I understand a little but about punk and grown to like it a little bit. I never knew what was considered as punk.

I personally really liked the Ramones. At first when I heard they were a punk band I wasn't to sure about it, because I for some reason had classified punk into the metal group. I figured out I was very wrong when we started listening to it. Everything is just loud and fun. It is just like dance music that is fun to listen to when your in a happy mood. The only thing that you can't really understand is the lyrics but that doesn't bother me with them because it works for them. Usually I like to have a really good singer with the band but this time I just like listening to the sound.

The song Wagon Wheel was originally written by Bob Dylan and later sung by Old Crow Medicine Show. Then Darius Rucker covered the song. I really like this song sung by Darius Rucker because I just really love his voice it is so good. The song is still good with lyrics and music sung by the others but I think that Darius Rucker makes the song so much better.

Led Zeppelins album we listened to this week was pretty good. I really liked the Beatles cover that they had in it. I would not have known it was a Beatles song if someone did not point it out to me. I liked the album and there were a lot of songs on there that I actually heard before but I didn't know who sang them. The movie I thought was pretty long to watch all at once and we didn't even watch the whole thing. There was just a lot of guitar solos that dragged on for a little bit to long. I also thought that he couldn't sing as well live as he could in his album.

I really like Tegan and Sara. I think that their voices sound good together and and their songs are always fun to listen to. The guitar is always is really good and the beat is really good in almost all their songs. No matter what mood I am, I am always down to listen to Tegan and Sara. My sisters and I made a CD of all their songs and we listened to them over and over again I think I know every word to all of their old songs. We listened to that CD so many times that we knew the order of the CD and could start singing the next song before it started playing. One of my favorite songs of theirs is The Con  because it is has great instruments and the singing of both of them sound really good together.

One person I don't really like is Bruno Mars. I don't really know why I don't like him so much but I do every time I hear one of his songs I change it. I think I have maybe like one of his songs once for a little bit but I just don't like him. Especially the song Grenade. "I will catch a grenade for you.." What? That will help nothing. I think his voice is whinny and I don't really like it. His lyrics aren't that good either I just don't really like him. All he sings about is love he needs more of a variety. Maybe then I would like him just a little more.

Even though I like Paul better then John I thought that John's solo album was better. I really liked John's but I did not expect that from Paul's album. Even though I kind of liked it, there were a lot of things going on in that album to just listen to once. I think for me to like that album more I would have to listen to it again to get the whole effect. I thought in John's album he was really creative in the song How do you sleep? He uses song titles from the Beatles to tell Paul that he is mad at him for what he had done.

Joni Mitchell's blue album is really good her voice to me is amazing. When you first started playing her album I wasn't for sure if I liked it because her voice changed pitch a lot but as we kept listening it got better and i grew to really her. She has such an amazing range in her voice and can sing every note really well. The whole album was good but one of the songs that stood out to me was the song that was talking about California I think she did a really good job on that song with the guitar and vocals. I would definitely listen her more I think she is a good artist and even better that she can write her own music. 

Off David Bowie and Parliaments albums I was actually surprised how many songs of theirs I knew. Their music has been sampled so many times and is still played today. I have herd so many of their songs but I had only heard an couple of the original ones. There had been so many covers of the songs that I hadn't heard some of the originals. It is crazy to think that you are listening to this music and you don't even know who the original artist is.

I really like Matt & Kim because I always love there beats to their songs they are upbeat. One of my favorite songs by them is Daylight because I think it is really fun to sing along. I also really like the singers voice because I think it sounds good with the background music.

I can't believe we already listened to the last Beatles album. None of their albums failed to empress me. I don't think I ever got bored with a single one of their twelve albums. Their songwriting was great in every single album. My favorite song in this last album is probably of course Let it Be it is just so good. You can hear so many version of that song still today.

I really love when people duet and harmonize in a song that's why I really like the song Little Talks. They both have really good voices and their voices go really good together. I also really like the beat to this song it is very upbeat. One thing about them is that they are just as good live as they are in the actual album. I sounds the exact same. I really like when bands can sound good live it just makes them that much better to me and makes me want to listen to them more.

I thought the movie on copyright was very interesting I really enjoyed watching it because it put another prospective on copyrighted music. I don't think copyright is stupid I some aspects because I think people should be able to remix music. I think it is very creative because you have to get the beat and the words to match up just right you have to be really good with music. I like remixes because I like when people pull different music from different genres and make it mesh well. If I was an artist I wouldn't want copyright on my music because I think it would just be cool for people to be listening to my music. Plus I would want to be able to hear what people could do with my song and how good people are at what they do to inspire me to make more.

Black Sabbath was pretty good considering that it is kind of metal sounding. I usually don't really like metal music but I thought that black Sabbath was pretty good because of the the guitarist. I really do like all music except for most metal. Everything else to me sound fine to me and I can tolerate. I don't like most metal because it sounds like they are just banging on their interments and screaming. It too loud of everything going on at once.

I just recently discovered Penny and Sparrow because someone on facebook said if you haven't heard this band you should go check it out. They are an austin based band and it is just to guys one on the guitar and one singing. I really like listening to them when I am in a relaxed mood because it is a lot of slow songs. I think the singer has a really good voice and the guitarist is really good too.
