I have definitely changed my mind on Jimi Hendrix. I actually think he is really good at what he does. He is really great at guitar because of the really big fingers that he has. He has a wide range of notes he can play very fast. I think he was the best guitarist of his time.

The main reason I really like country singers is that they can preform well and sound the same. They don't auto tune their voice as much as others do. Like if I'm going to see a show I want it to be good just like their CD's but sometimes the artist just doesn't preform as well as you think. One singer that sounds just like their CD is Jason Aldean I really like his voice and he preforms really well live too.

Woodstock would have been insanely crazy to go to. It is interesting to think of all the great bands that went and they are all talented in different ways. Like some of them have great voices but some are fantastic guitarists. The mud there could have been fun for about an hour playing in it and then the rest of the concert would not be very good because everyone would be covered in mud and wet. When Joe Cocker sang With a Little Help From My Friends I actually really enjoyed the way they preformed that song. I think that he actually has a really strong and good voice when he isn't screaming a lot. Some may disagree but I actually can hear some really great notes when he is singing and I like it.

Abbey Road has some of my favorite songs in it. This is a killer album with Something which was written by George, I am really surprised that he didn't write very many other songs because I find this one really good it is one of my favorite Beatles songs. Also the songs Come Together and Here Comes the Sun are just upbeat awesome songs there are so many covers to here comes the sun its a really popular song. Also I Want You who knew anyone could make a seven minute song sound good throughout the whole song and make me want to listen to the whole thing without getting bored. In the end of the album the medley actually sounded really awesome. When we first talked about I wasn't sure if I would like it that much or not but I thought the music connected well and the songs all sounded great.

When we started talking about the talent of the artists today it got me thinking on how good the really famous people are. You listen to them on the radio and they don't show all the talent that the singers actually have. Even the singers that you don't like because you think can't sing sometimes actually have a decent singing voice but you just haven't heard it. Like Kesha for instance you listen to the songs tik tok or any of her other famous songs and it sounds like she can't sing in key, but if you listen to the stuff that you had to dig deeper to hear them sing it's actually not as bad as I thought. Like the song goodbye by Kesha it's not that it is spectacular but it is amazing to think that they actually have some talent that is hidden under all their hollywood fame. Yeah she may not be as good as some of the people that are small unknown people, but it amazes me at what happens to most of the people that become famous. They become superficial and they put out things that are catchy for a while but it doesn't actually show their real talent. Even though I'm not a Justin Bieber fan i have to admit that he actually has a good voice. So even though what they play on the radio may be horrible doesn't actually mean they are that bad of singers. Seeing these videos surprised me a lot because they had a lot better voices then I thought.

I actually really like The Band and the way they write some of their songs is really cool to me. Its weird that they can make their lyrics so good when each person writes one line whenever they leave or come home. I also think it is interesting that the drummer is the main singer because that doesn't happen in bands every often. I also like how their band is full of a variety of instruments. Not only do they have a variety of instruments but also their music in general its a mix between country rock and many other genres which is really cool because that widens the audiences. I really like the song The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. I like it because I like the passion and soul all of the members of the band has.

I was so mad that the one day I missed class on Friday we listened to the white album. That is one of my favorite albums because it has a wide variety of music on it and I just really love some of the songs on it. My top favorite songs are Revolution, Blackbird, and Back in the U.S.S.R. 

But my favorite one is revolution because I think is is really up beat and has really good vocals and the guitar at the beginning sounds really cool.

Jimi Hendrix, for some reason I don't personally like him that much I don't really know why. He's not a bad artist don't get me wrong but I just don't like it that much. His songs are okay but they are just kind of boring to me and not very many stick out to me. His voice is just okay to me, the guitar is pretty good but their isn't anything that makes me think wow this is really great I should listen to this more often. Don't get me wrong I like to listen to his songs every once and a while but its not my favorite thing to listen to. If I listened to him more I probably get into his music but their is so much other music that I rather listen to.

The song Closer to the Sun by Slightly Stupid is a good song I really like it mainly for its intro in I think that it has a great start to the song. I really like the guitar in this song. Even though the original is good I like the acoustic version better because its a bit slower and you can hear the song better and really hear each strum on the guitar instead of it being really fast.

I love the Dave Matthews I think makes great music. The Dave Matthews band sold more tickets than any other act from 2000-2010 which is amazing. I really like his music because I feel that he gets really lost in his own songs and writes about things that he loves or events of what has happened in his life. Like the inspiration for some of his songs were actually written about his sister that was murdered by her own husband. I love the song Stay or Leave which was written about a girl he was in love with and asked to marry three times. I really like this song because I think that he a strong voice in this song and on top of that he is also a great guitar player.

With a Little Help from my Friends is a great song because it is a song about just having a great time with friends. I feel like this song is about just having fun together and not caring what everyone else thinks. I really like the song because its not to long but is very meaningful. I just wish the Beatles had made a video to this song because I feel like it would have been a great music video. Because they have great and funny personalities and just have fun with what they are doing and just have fun being together and doing what they love.

Even though the singing in the video might not be as good as the Beatles I like the video because its just fun.

To me the singer is the key point to making the band great. I like bands to be vocally strong although making sure all the instruments go well together and sound great my favorite part is the vocalist. I really enjoy singing and listening to people with great voices because I have always wanted to be a really good singer. I think this is why I love the Beatles so much more then The Who or Jimmy Hendrix or anybody else we have listened to in class, because not only are they a great band but their voices are great. And plus not only one of them sings but they have great harmonies because they all can do everything really well. I love the song Eleanor Rigby because it starts off really well with great singing. I also love them so much because they don't always use the same instruments like in this song they use violins and in some of the songs they use a sitar. Those are the reasons I think that made them so famous.

The song After the Storm by Mumford and Sons I think is a really good song. I love the guitar in this song i think it is really strong with the music and it really sticks out to me. I also really like the way Marcus Mumford sings and I love his accent not just because he has an english accent but when he sings it really sticks out to me and I really enjoy listening to it. I love the lyric "There will come a time you'll see with no more tears and love will not break your heart and dismiss your fear."I like this lyric because it is saying that soon you will find happiness and no more sadness.

I love this song because country is my favorite gerne in music. Although I like almost every type of music country is my favorite because every song has a great story behind it. I also love how most of the country singers have strong voices. I love this song because i think that Keith Urban is a really good singer. 

I don't get why everybody hates bob dylan so much. I actually kind of like his voice and his music more then i thought i would. His voice to me sounds really old and country.

Purple rain I never liked the song because I think the song is kind of slow and his voice doesn't really stick out from the acoustics. I really like Chelsea Redfern sings it because I think her voice is really strong and she sings the song really well. I think people like her need to be more famous because they are good singers without autotune.



The beach boys was the group that my family and I grew up listening to especially when we went out to our lake house. We would always listen to their albums over and over again and never got sick of them. I love their harmonies I think they are fantastic and I love how most of their songs are up beat and fun to listen too.

Take a little piece of my heart is a really good I like the song. But I have to say Janis Joplin defiantly sings the song way better then Faith Hill. I like the Janis Joplin song better because I feel that she puts all her emotion into the song and portrays the song how it is supposed to be sung.

After watching the whole second movie of the Beatles I thought that it was pretty good. I had some really funny moments in the movie like when they are trying to get the ring back from Ringo and their five attempts to get it back. I haven't heard one of Ben Kwellers songs in about two years until I heard it playing in class the other day. I got home and listened to all of his songs that I used to love. My favorite song was Penny on the Train Track I really like the song because I like how his voice complements the band.

Between the two Beatles movies I would have to say that the first one was a little funnier to me. I like how it is scripted but then they just also add little details to the movie that make it so funny. Like how in the first one in the first scene they start it out running and one of them falls. From then on I was cracking up throughout the whole movie I personally thought it was hilarious. The second movie we are watching now is still funny like the scene where they are in the bathroom and the dryer turns on so funny. We're not done finishing watching but I can't wait to see what comes next.

Beatles For Sale was written after the Beatles have done so many things so they sound just so tired. Even though they are so tired they it is still an amazing album. Like the song Eight Days A Week and Hard Days Night those songs are still just great songs. These songs even talk about how tired they are.

This song Hard Days Night is the first song ever to do a fade in into the intro of the song. I think that it works pretty well for this song I actually really like the intro to this song I love the notes of the intro it works really well for the song. 

The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Beatles which one do you prefer? Personally I defiantly prefer The Beatles over all of them because they are not only have the perfect mix of people, but they have some of the best song writers. My second pick from them would have to be The Who because they always have an upbeat tune and they also have some good singers, but they mostly did covers. Lastly I would pick The Rolling Stones because to me nothing really sticks out to me. Plus i don't like McJagger voice is just kind of raspy and is just drowned out by the band.

I really like the song Angel eyes if you like country music I think you would like this song. I think that it is a good song because they have good voices and harmonize very well. I also think that the band is great because the drums and the guitar mesh well together. The song is really catchy once I herd this song once I listened to it for about an hour straight.

The Rolling Stones... they are personally not my favorite but they aren't bad. I think the band is pretty good just Mick Jagger to me doesn't have anything special in his voice that makes him stick out. I also don't really like about them is that they didn't have very many originals on their first album. And if I had to choose between the Beatles and The Rolling Stones I would defiantly pick the Beatles any day.

I actually think that I like Bob Dylan I don't think he is that bad. I have been listening to some of his songs.I like the song Blowin' in the Wind because I like the kind of twang sound in his voice. I also like the use of the harmonica in this song.

Most people don't really like country but I love listening to country. I think that most country singers have great voices and I also like the beat of all the country songs. I also like country because I think that the songs tell a story and you can follow the story easily.

The Beatles are great not only were they good song writers they were great performers! In some of their performances they only had one microphone and had to harmonize by standing differnent distances from the microphone.

I love the Beatles there first album is not my favorite of theirs but its still amazing. I like how they write their own songs and don't just have people write the songs for them. I almost think that the songs that they wrote themselves are way better then the ones they covered for people. I also like how they recorded the whole album in one day.

All of Chuck Berry's songs have the best opening and I think it's weird to think that so many artists have used it from him. Also that everyone had hits on their covers of his songs.

Isn't it weird to think that all singers back then actually had real live talent... now its mostly auto tuned.
